Pigmentation

A diagnosed, benign pigmentation concern suitable for laser.

01

What it is

The concern.

A diagnosed, benign pigmentation concern suitable for laser.

02

Why it appears

What may shape it.

The visible concern can have more than one cause. Your consultation checks the diagnosis, skin or tissue involved, previous treatment and the change you would like to see.

03

The treatment

How it may help.

Selected pigment can absorb laser energy so the treated area changes during healing.

Your focused guide

Pigmentation.
From assessment to review.

This guide explains the pathway for this option. Your consultation confirms whether the diagnosis, technology and recovery fit you.

01

Diagnosis before settings

Pigment, redness, vessels and general skin-quality concerns can look similar while needing different treatment. We examine the area, review medicines and sun exposure, and decide whether the Candela GentleMax Pro is suitable for this specific concern.

02

How the laser is selected

GentleMax Pro combines Alexandrite and Nd:YAG wavelengths with integrated cooling. The clinician selects wavelength, spot size, pulse duration, fluence and cooling for the target and skin type. A device name alone does not determine the treatment.

03

The appointment

Protective eyewear is used and a patch test may be required. The pulse can feel like heat or a brief snap. Redness, swelling, darkening of pigment or temporary colour change can follow; the exact recovery and aftercare depend on the indication.

04

Course and outcome

Some vascular or pigment targets respond after a small number of sessions while others need a course or a different approach. Clearance can be incomplete and recurrence is possible. Sun protection and review photography help us assess change safely.

Your questions, answered

Before you
take the next step.

Do I need a consultation first?

Yes. Pigmentation is only planned after the clinician has assessed your concern, medical history, suitability, alternatives and realistic aims.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on the product or technology, the area, your response and the agreed goal. Your clinician explains the likely course and full cost before you decide.

What recovery should I expect?

Recovery varies by treatment and individual response. You will receive specific preparation, aftercare, expected reactions and a clear route for urgent or non-urgent concerns.
